Engaging with our community – a visit to St Peter an der Sperr

The days when bingo and birthday celebrations were the social highlight for seniors in assisted living have, thankfully, long since passed.
The BJHS is regularly engaged in stimulating projects for the seniors.  This is part of a social program, together with the Stadtheim W.N. – Haus der Barmherzigkeit, called “Hands Across The Generations”.
On the 27th June 2019, twenty students took ten seniors (many in wheelchairs), to visit the town’s museum at St Peter an der Sperr.
The private tour offered by the museum’s competent staff proved not only entertaining but also highly informative and kept both the students and seniors alert and engaged.
The day was enjoyed by both seniors and our juniors. We plan to continue and remain committed to this project. The BJHS believes that part of our education program is to reach out and remain involved in our community.
