This autumn’s hiking day was on 22nd of October and we were lucky enough to enjoy absolutely perfect weather for it – warm and calm with beautiful blue skies. Having taken the train to Pitten, we headed off into the hills for our 14 km hike up to the Türkensturz and then down to Seebenstein via the castle.
Despite the relatively long distance, everyone was in high spirits and enjoyed the fresh air – though they might not all admit it! The hard work uphill was rewarded with a lovely view from the ruins at the top of the cliff, where we had a long break in the sun. We even managed to get down to the train station in time, so all in all it was a perfect day.
