Exploring Australian instruments & making a bullroarer

Music lessons – 3rd & 4th grades
Starting out with a song about Australia and a short conversation about its natural beauty (topic – The English Speaking World), the pupils learnt about some traditional Austrialian instruments:
  • the bullroarer,
  • clapsticks,
  • the didgeridoo,
  • the gumleaf
  • and the wobble board.
Some pupils made use of the opportunity to try getting some sound out of the didgeridoo.
The highlights of these lessons were definitely some of the self-made cardboard bullroarers. We are ready to visit Australia! 🙂
