We have a new Headmaster!

To welcome our new Headmaster, Mr Martin Glanzner to our school, we thought it would be a nice idea to interview him and find out what makes him tick. Franzi and Elea, our intrepid reporters from 4e sat down with him for a little chat…
Elea: What are your hobbies?
Mr Glanzner: My favourite hobby is playing tennis, I also used to play volleyball. And of course spending time with my family!
Franzi: Are you a dog person or a cat person?
Mr G: That’s a hard question because I don’t have any pets… but I think I would prefer a cat.
Elea: What is your favourite thing to watch on TV?
Mr G:  I love documentaries but I only watch them when I really want to concentrate on it. When I’m tired, I also like to watch trash TV. 😀
Franzi: Why did you want to become a teacher?
Mr G: That’s easy – because I love children and I love working with them!
Elea: What subjects do you teach?
Mr G: I used to teach English and PE at my former school.
Franzi: What do you think is special/interesting about kids our age?
Mr G: They are very different and also don’t always act the same. I like people that aren’t always in the same mood.
Elea: Why did you want to become our new headmaster?
Mr G: It is a very interesting school, also like a model for other schools, and I love to speak English and to be surrounded by people who also enjoy working with that language.
Franzi: Do you already feel comfortable here?
Mr G: I really feel comfortable, because the pupils and the teachers are very welcoming and helpful.
Elea: Are you planning to keep the open learning lessons?
Mr G: I think open learning is very important for individual learning, so I really like it and want to keep it.
Franzi: What do you think is the worst behavior a pupil could show?
Mr G: That would probably be dishonesty.
Elea: What do you think about mobile phones at school?
Mr G: During school, you should only use it when the teachers tell you to and it would also be good not to use it so much in the morning before school, because then you can concentrate better.
