DigiMEDIA Group in Valencia – Day 1

This week the digiMEDIA group is in Valencia on our Erasmus+ Mobility. All 24 pupils in the group are with us and we are visiting our Spanish teammates, whom we hosted in January. It is considerably warmer here than it was back then in Austria! As you can see from the photos, the sun has been shining pretty much all the time so far. We are all very happy about that, as you can imagine!
The first day started early, with a meeting time of 5:45 am at Terminal 3 in Schwecht. Yes, Terminal 3, Mr King, not Terminal 1… But nobody’s perfect! We then had plenty of time to get through the checkpoint and find our gate for boarding. It was a highly unusual flight, as two parents of our pupils were members of the flight’s cabin crew, so we had very accommodating service. Mr King and Ms Schwaighofer even got to sit in the cockpit, one for take-off and one for landing. We weren’t allowed to actually fly the plane, though. Perhaps next time… This was, of course a fantastic experience, so many thanks to Mrs C. and Mrs N. for arranging it for us!
It was a beautiful flight, with the entire Alps stretched out on our starboard side for the first half. More perfect flying weather would be hard to imagine. After leaving the arrivals hall, we were given a wonderfully warm welcome by the host pupils and their families. Some very good friendships were obviously forged during the Spanish mobility to us in Austria. Soon all the pupils were whisked off by their host families and the teachers were taken to their hotel and then the lovely beach. Sunday afternoon was free time for everyone, with quite a few pupils also visiting the beach with their hosts.
