2d’s Wet Walking Day…

On Friday 1st June 2d set out from Willendorf for the Johannesbachklamm. It was a beautiful morning, the sun was beating down and comfortable shade was in short supply. Once in the gorge the temperature was much more comfortable and we enjoyed the short walk up along the banks of the stream and along the boardwalks.
We then stopped at the Pecherhittn for a quick break, during which the heavens opened and it absolutely poured down as if the world were about to end. After an hour of waiting it began to ease up a bit and we continued on our route back to Willendorf, where, wet and cold, we stopped in at Mrs Schneidhofer’s house to get dried off and enjoy an ice-cream.
From there it was just a short stroll back down to the train station for the trip back to Wiener Neustadt. Many thanks to Mrs Schneidhofer for kindly giving us shelter, towels and warm blankets!
