Celebrating School Choir Friendship

From 31st January until 2nd February we had guests from the Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium in Ostfildern (near Stuttgart), Germany visiting our school. In a project made possible by the European Erasmus programme, we celebrated our friendship, cultural exchange and music appreciation.
As well as a vocal workshop and rehearsals, the students got the opportunity to take part in a  Schuhplattler workshop held by Stefan, Lena & Tobias from the Volkstanz- & Schuhplattlergruppe Bromberg. This was really fun – many thanks to the excellent coaches!
The highlight was an evening concert with the Bilingual Choir & Band kids and the school choir of the Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium, performing songs of their repertoire, including a Schuhplattler tune as well as doing an Austrian dialect song with united choirs. The evening ended with the European Anthem.
Everyone did a terrific job, including our principal, who gave his debut on the double bass by playing the school anthem! Thanks to all the teachers, parents and friends who made their way to school in the evening for the concert.
Our time with our guests ended  in Vienna, with a visit to the Haus der Musik and the Eistraum. Everybody had a great time, and we are looking forward to future cooperation!
